In the morning’s light, I gazed upon his face,
A kindness so pure, it left me in a daze.
My heart swelled with gratitude, for this gift so rare,
A neighbor without equal, beyond compare.

A single drop of sadness
In a sea of pain.

I wanted to reach out and wipe it away,
But I didn’t know if she would let me.

So I just stood there,
And watched her cry.

She cried for a long time,
And I cried with her.
